Introduction
Meeting Scientific Leads/Organisers: Caroline Rynn, Roche, UK & DMDG and Heide Duevel, Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany

Targeted protein degraders (TPDs), specifically the heterobifunctional class of TPDs, violate accepted physicochemical limits required for oral drug delivery ( e.g.Lipinski’s Rule of 5), which renders their DMPK optimization challenging. However, their catalytic mode of action suggests that sub-stoichiometric amounts of drug are sufficient for efficacy. This is underpinned by recent clinical candidate disclosures showing that sufficient exposure can be achieved to enable pharmacological effects superior to target inhibition. This 1-day DMDG scientific meeting will bring together renowned experts to discuss the application of DMPK optimisation strategies and quantitative translational PKPD frameworks to predict human PK and efficacious dose of heterobifunctional TPDs.

Who should attend?
This meeting will be of interest to those already working with TPDs from academia, Pharma (large and small), Biotechs and CROs, who wish to contribute their expertise and to learn more about application of state of art optimisation, characterisation and PKPD strategies.

Call for Spotlight talks
We plan to include a session of short spotlight talks (10 mins) covering DMPK-PD aspects of TPDs in this meeting. Abstract submission for this session is now open with the closing date of Friday 15th December 2023; please email your abstracts with the subject ‘DMDG TPD one-day meeting spotlight talk abstract’ to Caroline Rynn and Heide Duevel. Abstracts should be concise and include title, authors and respective affiliations. Following review, abstract applicants will be notified by mid January 2024.
