Following the success of the first meeting in Gothenburg in 2018, we invite contributions to and registrations for the second Joint Meeting between DMDG and the Swedish Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences. We are developing a fantastic programme, which caters for the breadth of membership from both organisations. We hope that you are inspired to both join us and contribute an oral presentation and/or a poster at this year’s meeting, as well as contributing to the great discussion that the topics chosen will generate.

We are pleased to announce that our highly popular and entertaining debate returns this year. Steve Hood will be presiding as 'ringmaster' and will be trying to maintain a balanced yet lively debate on another topical issue.

Another highlight of the meeting will be the annual SPS 'Candlelight Lecture' to be given this year by Tommy B. Andersson.

All meeting sessions, including the Poster Session, will be held in English.

Call for Speakers
Planning for the 2021 DMDG SPS Joint Meeting is well underway. We are now looking for speakers to fill the sessions detailed in the Programme. If you would like to speak in any of these sessions, please contact the relevant session chair(s) directly with your proposal by Thursday 30 July. Speaking slots are limited, so we would encourage you to act quickly if you would like to present, but those who are not chosen to speak will still have the opportunity to present their work as a poster (see below), allowing for great networking opportunities with other DMDG and SPS members.
For any hot topics or interesting case studies that don't fit within these sessions, please contact the Free Communications session chair.

If you would like to present a poster, please tick the relevant box on the registration form and send your abstract to the Poster Session organiser. Deadline for poster abstracts is Friday 27 November 2020.

There are a number of sponsorship packages on offer to enable sponsors to fully participate in the meeting and the scientific discussion. Where possible we strongly encourage each sponsoring company to send scientists to attend, the delegate pass will include access to all of the talks and the poster session. Additional information about the groups can be found at, and
To see more information on the benefits of sponsoring the meeting and to book your sponsorship, please download the Sponsorship Opportunities document.

Preceding the Joint Meeting at Gothia Towers, there are two meetings which will run concurrently on Monday 18 January. These are:

Peptide ADME Discussion Group - 3rd Workshop
The current regulatory landscape for the development of peptide drugs may lead companies to perform a variety of small molecule-focussed ADME studies in support of filing packages. The aim of this workshop is for member company scientists to discuss and exchange ideas of peptide ADME related challenges (active participation is expected). Asking the question, if the current activities are suitable for these modalities, and should science-driven decisions on development of such molecules be implemented more in the industry. If you work in the drug development of peptides, and have such questions (or additional ones), please join in on the debate with us in Gothenburg, for a ½ day meeting, prior to the DMDG Open Meeting.

1st European Biotransformation Workshop
“Everything you wanted to discuss about biotransformation and (not) afraid to do so”
The purpose of this workshop is to provide a platform for biotransformation scientists to discuss topics of interest to them and the biotransformation community at large. The scope may cover all stages of drug discovery, development as well as clinical and life-cycle management activities addressing in silico, in vitro, preclinical in vivo approaches and clinical studies. The meeting format will involve a discussion leader for each topic who will introduce the subject with a few slides (10-15 min) followed by group discussion. The key messages/possible ways to follow up will be captured and circulated to all attendees. for a ½ day meeting, prior to the DMDG SPS Joint Meeting.
